Port Harcourt Startup Builds App to Track Oil Spill Reports in Real Time

A Port Harcourt-based technology startup has launched a mobile application that allows residents to report suspected oil spills in real time, complete with photo evidence and GPS coordinates.

The app, developed by a team of young engineers, feeds into a public dashboard that community environmental monitors say has already been used to flag several incidents faster than traditional reporting channels.

The founders say they are in talks with regulatory agencies to formally integrate the tool into official spill-response workflows.
