Telecom operators say newly laid fibre-optic infrastructure has extended broadband access to several previously underserved communities across the Niger Delta.
Local business owners in some of the newly connected towns say the improved connectivity is already easing access to digital banking and online sales platforms.
Industry watchers note that closing the connectivity gap remains uneven across the region, with many riverine communities still awaiting reliable service.
